Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - is a Canadian and American musician and singer. There are more than 20 albums. DiFranco's music is classified as folk, alternative and rock but she also draws influences of hip-hop and jazz. Widely considered a feminist icon Grammy recipient Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement, and was among the pioneers to establish her own record label in 1990. DiFranco's parents were Elizabeth (Ross), a ex-student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each other while they were students at the same school.
